"Fire Blast may have caused the Raid lock-up bug"

#PokemonGO: So I'll preface this with we'll never quite know, but the timing of updates seems suspicious, coupled with several reports from Twitter and the PokeMiners Discord server, which makes me think this is probably legit.Within a few minutes of each other, Fire Blast was updated in the Game Master (nothing interesting, just the order of the wait animation fields) and the Known Issues page was updated to say one of the causes of the Raid failing to complete was resolved. For those unaware, this is the issue that when the boss would 'die' the timer would keep going and you would never advance to the reward screen (until you rebooted the game).Of course, we can't really test now, but perhaps those two events were related, and if Fire Blast was used against the raid boss as it was dying, it caused this issue? So first off, in the spirit of research, does anyone have examples/evidence of using Fire Blast in a raid (or someone in the raid using it) - Mons like Ho-Oh, Arcanine, Heatran, and Palkia - and the raid failing to complete, requiring a reboot? We have a few examples as I mentioned, but more evidence is always good. And of course, is the issue still happening now?And second, wanted to honestly give Niantic props for figuring this out (if it was in fact the issue). This must have been a tricky bug to nail down as it wasn't always reproducible, it appears to have affected just one move for mons that weren't necessarily meta, and of course, the timing would need to be correct. So credit where credit is due, and kudos to Niantic if this does in fact fix it (at least part of it, like they said).Anyway, let us know what your findings are! via /r/TheSilphRoad https://ift.tt/322UHGf
