"The nearby should prioritise evolved Pokémon, regardless of whether you have one or not"

#PokemonGO: The increased evolved spawns during the Johto Festival drew my attention to this: Niantic seems to think that, if you already have one of an evolved Pokemon, you don't really want another. The screenshots below show my account (left), and my girlfriend's account (right) at the same time and place. I have a Typhlosion, but she doesn't. If this was an isolated case then I'd say that the Pokémon may have been on the edge of the nearby's range, except that this happened a further twice during the event with my brother this time being able to see evolved spawns on his nearby that I just couldn't, purely because he didn't have one yet.All of the evolved spawns were a short walking distance away. A distance that, were there no other Pokéstops nearby, would definitely show up naturally. So it's not even like Niantic is giving players extra range on their nearby for new Pokémon, it's purely a matter of prioritisation. It's interesting to think of the number of evolved Pokémon that we must've missed because Niantic thought we'd rather catch our 130th Hoppip than our 2nd Typhlosion.https://ift.tt/2PlPaCv via /r/TheSilphRoad https://ift.tt/2PRItcv
