"My brothers account was compromised and he can’t get it back"

#PokemonGO: So my brother has a super active account, he’s been playing religiously for the passed 2.5 years and was 2 months away from hitting level 40 and had under 10 Pokémon missing from his Pokédex.A few weeks ago he couldn’t get into his account and checked his email and saw that the account was switched to a different email. He contacted a friend who went online and told him his account his a different name now.His previous name on his account had his real life name in it and he’s contacted Niantic trying to see what he can do and willing to provide proof of his identity and they’ve been completely unhelpful.It was his mistake as his email and account had the same password as the email was dedicated solely to that account. His theory is that he once posted his account online to show off his achievements and from there he assumes someone began trying to break in and were eventually successful.Any advice on anything he might be able to do?
