"Alright, travelers. It's time we had a dedicated, specialized channel for the high volume of IV help requests, calculator discussions, and IV brag pictures! - Announcing /r/PokemonGOIVs"
#PokemonGO: Hey travelers,Since the discovery of Individual Values (IVs), interest in determining a Pokemon's IVs have spiked. It's an awesome part of the game and adds a new dimension to the collecting mechanic (and eventually to the trading mechanic), but travelers are not always 100% confident in the results from IV rating tools. This has lead to a lot of top-level posts from travelers seeking a second opinion. We also see a high volume of folks who hit the IV jackpot and want to share their excitement. Finally, we see a lot of questions looking for advice about who to keep and who to trade in.We want to help keep the Silph Road focused on the Silph Road. (Building a global, in-person network, and continuing our research efforts). So, effective today, we're going to be redirecting these content types:posts looking for personal IV helpdiscussions about calculators' differences/approachesnew mobile/web apps that help you calculate IVs'brag' poststo a new channel specifically for IV content.Announcing: /r/PokemonGOIVsWe originally wanted to simply have a weekly thread about IVs, but this would have meant folks had to wait several days to get help. In the end, we felt the best solution was to create a dedicated sister-sub for TSR: /r/PokemonGOIVs! This will be where we redirect the above content when it's posted on /r/TheSilphRoad.We know that many of our travelers have been asking to reduce or remove IV content from TSR, so our home here didn't get overtaken by IV-mania. We agree - and hope that everyone can continue the friendly, constructive culture we value here on the Road over in our new sister sub. We'll be adding a link to the new sub in our sidebar (and our header banner for a period). If you see IV posts in the /new/ queue, know that we'll be removing them periodically. But feel free to suggest they post over in the new, more appropriate sub!Stay tuned for some more awesome updates on the Global Nest Atlas and the rest of the Silph web app soon! We have some amazing stuff in the works, and can't wait to share. :)Travel safe,- The Executives - via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2aqIR0b
