"Pokemon hunting is backwards in this game. Some gripes, and constructive suggestions."
#PokemonGO: Unless you've been living under a Geodude lately, you've seen the complaints of rural vs. city gameplay. It's a stark contrast in play from just my house, and neighborhood, to going into town... Less than 3 miles away.If anyone remembers how the early (and I also assume later, I stopped after the original 151 games), cities were places to heal Pokemon, buy items, and fight gyms. Rural areas were places to catch Pokemon, and have random battles.I greatly enjoy the current game, being a very casual player, but this seems so backwards to the roots and concept of exploring your world. To compound that, Pokemon are incredibly rare if you're not on or near a street.Living in rural NH, you'd expect that any of the hiking or riding trails that are around would be rife with Pokemon. Nothing. Nada. Zip. I've got incentive to walk around the street 100x, to catch Pidgeys. If I want a rare chance at something good, I go sit at the library, with 4 stops and lures, and about 100 other people. In the spirit of not just griping, perhaps making some tweaks that don't bind Pokemon to streets. Maybe have that Gyarados spawn at that small island in the middle of the lake. A Snorlax out on a hiking trail, a few km in. Make the hunt a hunt! A Dragonite on top of a mountain with a great trail, to go and actually experience the world around you, not just the streets. As it stands, I think it's a fun game, and I've certainly done more block laps than ever because of it. But I'm sure I'm not alone in looking for "off the beaten path" challenges and goals to incorporate. And also, just a quick reminder... We are still in the first month, and the dev team is working their butts off to finish that up. Maybe one day they'll have time to even look at these posts and suggestions. So let's cut them some slack on the straight up ranting.TL;DR Pokemon belong in rural areas, gyms in towns and cities. Allow Pokemon to spawn in fields, on mountains, in harbors. There are more than streets in this world. via /r/pokemongo http://ift.tt/2abmHjt
