"Is GPS Spoofing to Snipe a Gym a thing?"

#PokemonGO: My GF and I just spent like 30 min leveling up a gym from lvl 8 to lvl 9. We just moved to this new area and apparently it's all lvl 8+ blue gyms full of dragonites, lapras, and snorlaxes.No one else was helping the fight as we were watching the numbers. I was finishing the last fight, and she was ready to add, but someone still added before us.And there was no one around.
