Unfortunately, it appears that many of the usernames that were mysteriously taken when the game was first new appear to still be in use. Pokemon appear to be removed from the scanner when they are out of range. Finally!Finally, the 'preview' of the Nearby scanner (the little tab that shows the 3 'nearest' while in map view) now reads left to right instead of being flipped - a longstanding bug.It's possible there are changes under the hood for how tracking works.
