"Pokemon GO v0.33.0 Update - Minor Updates [Megathread]"
#PokemonGO: Alright travelers,Minor update this time, but a few bugs squashed and one or two new little things. You can read the full official changelog on the Google Play store here. The Android update weighs in at 31.16 MB. Both app stores should see the update now. It's great that Niantic is finally adding changelogs, as they historically have been spotty about this. The AwesomeNew Tracking System"We're currently testing a variation of the "Nearby Pokémon" feature with a subset of users. During this period you may see some variation in the nearby Pokémon UI." - Niantic, Full TextWe'll post more details as soon as we have them, but for now, see below for what we know.Battery Saver (iOS)Batter Saver appears to be back for iOS trainers! (With some extra bug fixes)Example photo - Thanks to /u/Wissam4004XP Bonuses RestoredThrowing 'Nice,' 'Great,' and 'Excellent' throws has now been fixed to award XP. Also, you can now earn both curve and nice/great/excellent XP bonuses! (Thanks /u/veragest)One-Time Name ChangeEvery trainer is now allowed to change their username once in case you were so excited to sign into Pokemon GO the first time that you picked something idiotic. Unfortunately, it appears that many of the usernames that were mysteriously taken when the game was first new appear to still be in use. But still a nice addition.Example photo - Thanks to /u/zook388The JournalEgg hatching now appears in the journal!Example photo - Thanks to /u/MookiewookThe ObviousNew popup warningsTrainers are now warned not to play above a certain speed, and in fact have to 'confirm' they are not the driver while moving above a speed threshold. Interesting.Example photo - Thanks to /u/zook388Under the Hood(We're digging into the code to see the full changes, travelers - keep checking back. We'll update as we confirm information)Nearby ScannerThe 'nearby' scanner has received a little facelift. Here are some shots of it in action:Full Example - thanks to /u/Sk84life116Empty Example - thanks to /u/zook388It also appears that the issue of ghost 'mons in the nearby scanner is resolved! Pokemon appear to be removed from the scanner when they are out of range. Finally! Finally, the 'preview' of the Nearby scanner (the little tab that shows the 3 'nearest' while in map view) now reads left to right instead of being flipped - a longstanding bug. It's possible there are changes under the hood for how tracking works. Stay tuned for official confirmation! All in all, it's nice to see the updates rolling out frequently like this! Looking forward to getting out and giving the engine a spin!Travel safe,- dronpes - via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2aHzR5N
