"The new tracking system is a brilliant financial move by Niantic"

#PokemonGO: For a while now there has been two popular theories on why Niantic decided to remove the tracker, one was the server load, and the other was for safety reasons. Now that the potential redesign is released, there is a third reason - more revenue from sponsored locations. Remember this article from a while back:http://ift.tt/2aE0PrW the previous tracking system, if a pokestop was to sponsor a pokemon, trainers could eventually find their way there to the pokestop. But with the new tracking system, the pokestop is highlighted very clearly and trainers are way more likely to visit that location. This means the sponsorship bring more value to the sponsor, and in turn they will pay more money to Niantic.I still believe there are technical reasons to why they revamped the traking system, but the new tracking system is definitely a huge move to align their game mechanic to their revenue model. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2aIvrs7
