"My first Pokerant..."
#PokemonGO: So, I've been playing this game since it launched. I downloaded it in the airport on the way home from my honeymoon. I've stuck with it through the good times and the bad. The lack of communication from Niantic, the removal of tracking, the promise of the return of tracking, r, the grass, the fucked catch/run rates, the glitches, the minor text fixes, all of it.I've played it every day, in a wide variety of locales, including the major city that I call home. Thousands of Pokemon caught, nearly filled my dex. Every gym I see practically has a Lapras, a Dragonite, and/or a Snorlax in it.I've never even seen those Pokemon in the wild before.Until today.I just got home from a three day trip for work and I popped the app open while I walked up to my house. And what silhouette should appear, but a tubby lil' Snorlax.I hesitated for a moment, still laden with my luggage and all the memories of the broken or lack of tracking which started flooding my brain. The Pokemon I'd hunted, and then had the game glitch when I found them... the ones that just never got closer, no matter which way I walked... the ones who despawned after searching, and running for 20 minutes. But I said I'd go for it.I walked around my fairly sizable block, and the thing remained in the first slot. And then it appeared.Over 1,000 CP Snorlax. My first one ever. Never even had one on my radar.I entered the battle and threw a berry with the same enthusiasm of my 6 year old self when I first picked up Red version all those years ago. Then I threw an Ultraball. Excellent throw. Smallest possible ring. And it ran.I'm despondent./rantTl;Dr via /u/TeamDogfight: "RNG screwed me over and I find the need to shitpost." via /r/pokemongo http://ift.tt/2diq9Zt
