"As the Halloween event rolls on, let's all start spelling GASTLY the right way"
#PokemonGO: So personally I really love the Halloween event. Despite the initial disappointment of the pidgey spawn rate turning into what was my former gastly spawn rate, it's really exciting to see a massive change in spawns. Even when nest migrations took place to date, my pidgey, rattata, caterpie, weedle, zubat, spearow, clefairy, horsea, krabby, staryu, pinsir, nidoran spawns, they always really stayed the same. They were my typical 90% on a given day.Today was probably the first day that this drastically changed. Gastly, cubone, drowzee, meowth. Even haunter, hypno, gengar, marowak seems to be everywhere. All of this and all the candies has got me really walking today way more than usual. Now with the influx of all the gastly in-game, so has the other variations of gastley, ghastly and ghastley on the sub. It's GASTLY travellers! The key is that GHASTLY is an adjective meaning "causing great horror or fear", and GASTLY is a GAS Pokemon. And even though it's tempting to put an extra E, it's unfortunately not there. Spelling it that way is one of the most ghastly poke-crimes that can ever be committed.Anyway hope you are all enjoying this event as much as I do, and I'm super excited to try and finish my regional pokedex (minus lapras/porygon/chansey) over the coming week. Happy walking!!Fun trivia - gastly is called "ghos" in the Japanese game. Haunter was "ghost", whilst gengar got to keep its name. And personally I thought renaming "sleep" as drowzee and "sleeper" as hypno was ingenious when it happened.Minor text addition: Also DROWZEE is the Pokemon, and drowsy is an adjective meaning "sleepy and lethargic; half asleep". Drowzy is somewhere halfway. You might be feeling drowsy from all the walking, but you can't just blame drowzee for using confusion on you to call him any other way :-) via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2eGiQsu
