"The gym changes are having the opposite affect Niantic intended."

#PokemonGO: In Niantic's blog post regarding the gym changes, which were upcoming at the time, it's made quite clear they were attempting to make gyms more accessible to players at lower levels compared to the more hardcore player base.No matter what your level, you can now have an impact on your team’s Gym.http://ift.tt/2ePIcIE after the release of this change it seemed to be a good move, as we saw more players being able to contribute to training gyms and placing their Pokemon in them to earn those vital coins. However, fast forward a week or so and this is simply not the case. Gyms have now become even less accessible to the lower level players because almost every gym is level 10 and fully stacked with Pokemon over 2200 CP.Even myself who is level 30 is struggling to find gyms with an open slot or not having a high CP requirement (by this I mean the CP of the first Pokemon in the gym being over 2200 CP), so I can only imagine how this feels for players at a lower level. We are also seeing these changes be abused by those running 2 accounts on different teams and bumping up the CP requirement for the gym (defeating the lowest Pokemon on an account from an opposing team so they can insert a higher CP Pokemon). This simply has to change and fast because it is stagnating gyms, which were already in a poor state before these changes. To be honest, I am not entirely sure how it can be changed, perhaps adding additional tiers might help or placing certain restrictions on gyms. For example, there could be a CP limit for each tier of the gym, i.e. level 1 has a limit of 1500 CP and this increments at each level. Another rule they could implement is restricting the number of slots per Pokemon, i.e. only 2 of the same Pokemon allowed in the gym. This would help to counter many of the gyms I at least come across, which are stacked with Dragonite, Snorlax and Lapras in a range of 2500 to 3000+ CP. This type of change would also shake up the gym meta and possibly make more Pokemon viable for effective gym defenders.Regardless of my ideas and what could actually be done, in my opinion gyms are in a far worse state than they were before the changes and it will only get worse. via /r/pokemongo http://ift.tt/2dH6S3u
