"A misconception I see on here regarding the new CP rebalance"
#PokemonGO: So almost all the posts I see about it are all the same. Something along the lines of why did Niantic nerf this and this when this made much more sense or I spent all this stardust on this Pokémon and now it's nerfed, what a waste. You have to understand what actually happened in this update. They didn't look at each individual Pokémon and decide whether they need a nerf or a buff. That is not what happened. This update was for the CP formula to account for a poor design choice that was pointed out by a lot of people here in the community. The rebalance changed every Pokémon CP according to it's base stats. The formula now gives more CP to those which have specialist stats (very high in attack OR special attack). For example, Alakazam now has the highest non-legendary attack stat because of this. This was the same as in the main games and it's how it should have been from the start. He is now a super strong glass cannon. This was a very good rebalance from almost every perspective. Not only did they fix a long overdue issue but they mixed up the gym scene so a few Pokémon that were never used in battle now get to be in the spotlight. What I'm trying to say is, it is incorrect, unfair and misleading to say they nerfed or buffed a specific Pokémon, most people who say this are just angry that a strong Pokémon they don't have got buffed or that a Pokémon they invested a lot it is weak now. Some Pokémon will always be stronger than others, that's how it always is. A good Vaporeon counter, Victreebel, is weaker now but Jolteon became amazing. There's still plenty of options and gyms just got more interesting.(Posted again cus it got removed first time for some reason.)Edit: I worded one bit very poorly as some people have pointed out. It is not the CP formula that was changed directly but most likely the calculation for overall attack stat for each Pokémon, taking the special and physical stats from the main games into consideration separately, giving the higher one more weight for the final result. via /r/pokemongo http://ift.tt/2gxmtFx
