"[Conjecture] PoGo+ Disconnections"
#PokemonGO: Roughly coincident with the latest releases of the Pokemon Go app, and a temporary reinstatement of at least one tracker, and the Halloween event, my Plus has been acting wonky:randomly not picking up 'mon or stops, but staying connected to the phonerandomly disconnecting when trying to catch a 'monAlso I had my first in-person experience of the new Captcha system, just a few minutes after I'd gone for a potty break which had a "GPS Not Found" error for several minutes. Now, we've figured out that the Plus and the Go app each have their own separate process running on Niantic's servers. (Which itself leads to those moments when the Plus knows a 'mon is right there waiting to be captured, but your Go app hasn't found it yet. Or when you're standing at a stop and can spin it, but the Plus hasn't seen it yet.)Could it be that it's Niantic's Captcha system interfering with the Plus's operations? Their automated systems are sniffing out finicky network issues that look a lot like bot behaviour, and so it's attempting to send a Captcha to that client. Except that it's not sending the Captcha to your phone's screen, because technically that's using a separate server process.Niantic certainly wouldn't want to admit to this publicly, if it were actually the case, because doing so feeds more information to the bot/tracker writers. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2ewtJwx
