"Corsola is incredibly difficult to find in Pokémon Sun and Moon - For good reason."

Corsola's encounter rate is 1% in Melemele sea, and 5% on Route 9. These are so low, but for good reason. It's well known now that Mareanie consume Corsola spines, so I would have to suggest that Mareanie has been over-consuming Corsola and reducing the population.
