"[Analysis] A theory about Gen2 exclusives."

#PokemonGO: Hi!So I've seen lots of predictions about regional exclusives, most of them saying things like Smeargle would be for Europe (which I doubt, for it being a special pokémon like Ditto), Sudowoodo for Asia... Even blasphemies like Miltank being for NorthAmerica, out of my reach! Now I'd like to give my two cents on it. Here it comes:First, all of the current regionals have in common that they are one-stage pokémon in their current generation. Of course, most predictions follow this rule, and it includes Mr. Mime and Sudowoodo.Gen2 only has 100 pokémon, compared to Gen1's 151. I assume there will be fewer regionals as well, specifically for the continents that still don't have one of these: South America, Africa and Continental Asia (unless they expand Farfetch'd). So, maybe 3 or, at the very most, 4 regionals. I strongly doubt Europe, Australia, etc. would also get a Gen2 regional. It would be a bad idea, too many exclusives for only 100 pokémon.Current regional exclusives have another thing in common: You can't encounter them as wild battles in Red/Blue. You either trade them from NPCs, or catch them in the Safari zone. Futhermore, the four of them share the trait of being the only pokémon that are obtained exclusively by NPC trade in the Japanese Blue version of the game, which is like the Crystal or Emerald for Red and Green. However, in Gen2 there is no Safari Zone. Also, none of the NPC traded pokémon are from Gen2, except for Xatu in Crystal, which is a two-stage, so trades are out too.So, which small group of one-stage gen2 pokémon share some kind of exclusivity that is not trades or safari?I immediately thought of the Pokémon Outbreaks which, according to Bulbapedia "are a feature introduced in Generation II that allows the player to catch Pokémon that are usually rare or otherwise unobtainable". These pokémon are Tauros, Marill, Yanma, Dunsparce, Snubbull and Qwilfish for Gold and Silver. Crystal has only a very few of these in this group, the other ones becoming more common.Tauros is the only Gen1 mon here, and it may even work as a link to the other exclusives. Among the others, there are three that not only share the trait of being the only one-stage mons apart of Tauros, but also they compose the full, smaller list of outbreaks in Pokémon Crystal: Yanma, Dunsparce and Qwilfish. These are the ones I believe will be the regional pokémon for Gen2. They all share a special trait of rarity unlike other one-stage mons like Smeargle, Gligar, Miltank, etc., which may be more or less rare but not in a special way.About the areas where these pokémon might go... Well I have some thoughts, but they are a bit ambiguous because the three of them have more than one place where they could fit. Maybe I'll leave that in the comments if I make out my mind.... Anyway, that's it. Thanks for reading. Have a good one!EDIT: Wait, the flag should be Analysis or Discussion? I'm not sure when to exactly use each of them. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2hHjyb6
