"Lvl 30 but new to prestiging. What are the cliff notes of best practices?"

#PokemonGO: I played obsessively for 6-7 weeks when the game first came out and jumped to level 28. The three step bug, random nearby lag, and tracker shutdowns got me to finally step away.Well a few weeks ago my wife started playing again pretty frequently and then my daughter and I got swept back in. We play now with two of my daughters and take trips around, it's quite fun to see them play. Girls are 8, 4, and 2. Even the two year old loves playing though she always runs out of pokeballs.Okay onto the question. I never once prestiged, back then it was useless, gyms were buggy as hell, and I used to play mostly solo. Now with my family I'd love to be able to stop by a gym, prestige it up for them and give them the sheer joy of dropping their tiny Pokémon in.Also, more selfishly if my wife and I see a higher gym we'd like to dump some of our bigger mon to hold one of the top spots for a few days. :) There are some gyms that can hold for days here in Indy (south side).I know now that all 6 Pokémon you bring to battle have to be under half the lowest CP.Does that then grant 500 prestige? Even if I flee?Do you commonly fight one and flee, or battle a few? What if the gym is already Instinct (yeah we are all Instinct), but the lowest Pokémon is much smaller? And finally, what are you 4-5 go to prestigers. What should o be looking to hold onto?Remember I'll be doing a lot of this solo (or duo with wife) to get it at least up to level 5 if possible. But I also wanna know best practices for prestiging the random level 7 gym to level 8 to drop a mon in.Any cliff notes for a fairly hardcore player (considering I quit for over 3 months) who has never prestiged at all? Thanks everyone. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2hqfytI
