"Novelty Defense: Chansey + Ditto?"

#PokemonGO: I have nothing insightful to say except that whatever kills Chansey and doesn't time out will definitely not be a Magikarp. A ditto placed directly behind the Chansey in the gym order has a chance of turning into something that can do some real damage.Chansey would need to be low level and Ditto very high level for gym placement to work, which limits this strategy's effectiveness. The other big downside vs. other defense strategies is the fact that neither Chansey nor Ditto are pokemon named "Snorlax."EDIT: I think this part was unclear: The purpose of the Chansey is to counter an opponent who attempts to switch pokemon to force Ditto into a form that is easy to beat. Chansey wins by making the opponent time out. Switching to magikarp (or whatever) during the Chansey fight adds a few precious seconds, and the low damage by magikarp adds a few seconds unless you time Chansey's HP just right. The idea is that you lose to Chansey because you tried to counter the Ditto, or you lose to Ditto because you tried to counter the Chansey. That said, u/Justwantsomekindness seems to have done the math and the Chansey's level will probably be too low to make this viable. And it also suffers from another weakness that is impossible to fix: The attacker can just attack and quit until Chansey is gone, and then take on Ditto normally. So it probably doesn't work. But I still think it's a fun idea. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2hd9hC0
