"What is Pokemon teasing?"
Obviously, some super spoilers below, so look away if you're squeamish.I wanted to open up discussion on the big spooky conspiracy theory behind the Pokemon games. Basically... what the heck is going on with alternate realities in this series?I'm an oldbie, so I've been transferring the same Blaziken (My starter from R/S/E) through every single game as I get them. I thought it was a neat little nod when in the status page, it would mention that it traveled through time. Then... somewhere along the generations, it started getting weird. My Blaziken was apparently reality hopping too, each game generation seemed to have something different to say about what was going on. I just thought it was an easter egg...Then comes the post game of OR/AS, and characters actually start talking about this phenomenon. A completely insane "Zinnia" explains about a different version of Hoenn, where Pokemon couldn't mega evolve (The Original R/S/E timeline), because the Kalos superweapon was never detonated by AZ. This actually becomes a major story point. Also in the postgame of OR/AS is the absolutely freaky amount of legendary Pokemon falling through breaches in space to face the player. Seriously, in one night I encountered seven legendary Pokemon, many considered deities that just... dropped out of hoops in front of me. One of them was even Dialga, which should be powerful enough not to be thrown across space-time like this. It's pretty apocalyptic. Now we have Sun/Moon which completely focuses around breaches in reality, apparently happening more and more frequently. Again, the post-game story features a character that seems to have fallen through reality, Anabel. In the original Gen 3, Salon Maiden Anabel was the frontier brain of the battle tower. The thing is, in the OR/AS remakes, which happen just before Sun/Moon, the battle tower was never even built... yet, she's now visibly older than her original appearance. In Sun/Moon, it's explained that she seems to have fallen through one of these breaches, completely devoid of memory, and has since lead the International Police. Also, the Ultra Beasts now seem to be unnaturally attracted to her energy... something the player character themselves can actually experience. If you happen to battle Anabel at the battle tree, her music is the old chiptune, bippy, "trumpet" music of the original Generation 3 games. No remaster, no remix, nothing that the other characters have. She's literally lifted from a completely different world. What's even more weird, is apparently Ash Ketchum now exists in the game universe. He sends you the Greninja in the demo, and a photo of him and Pikachu can be seen on the wall of Mimiku's shrine if you tilt your 3ds the right way and look up the wall.So what the heck does this all mean? It's clearly important enough to be the backstory of two generations of games... What are we leading up to?TLDR: Reality seems to be completely falling apart in the Pokemon World... What the heck is going on?? via /r/pokemon http://ift.tt/2gXRXDM
