"[Advice] First Time at Santa Monica Pier"

#PokemonGO: Today, I was fortunate enough to go to the Mecca of Pokémon Go for the first time: here's some advice for any other first-timers planning a visit.Bring one or two portable phone chargers if you're planning on staying the dayStock up on Pokeballs before goingPrioritize which Pokémon you catch in order to conserve PokeballsStay for as long as possible if you're hoping for a rare spawn (they don't seem to be as common as people make it sound, but that's just from my one experience)Check the nest reports on The Silph Road before going so you know what to expect as far as typical spawns goDon't bother with fighting or prestiging gyms; they're constantly being taken by spoofers.Every Pokestop on the pier will be lured (spoofers)There are lots of homeless people (be aware of their presence, especially at night)Bring more money than you think you need (tourist-y area means higher prices for everything, including food and parking)There are large crowds (be aware of your surroundings!)Be prepared for cold and warm weather (temperature can fluctuate quickly since it's a coastal environment)Hope this helps someone out! via /r/pokemongo http://ift.tt/2jaVxfY
