"Help understanding these Johto sprites"

#PokemonGO: Saw this on r/PokemonGOPositive. Sprites sheet including Umbreon, Espeon, and Tyrogue. I don't really know what I'm talking about with this stuff as well as you guys do, but I commented, "How did they get these? I thought sprites were stored server side now?" The creator of that subreddit suggested that I come here and ask you guys if you know anything about it, so I'm sorry to take up space, but here I am asking. I already used the search bar on here and r/pokemongo, but there is either nothing there, or I couldn't think of the right search parameters to find anything useful. I know that many of the travelers here have looked around at the game files themselves, so maybe you can let me know if there is anything interesting or useful behind these images. If specifically only Tyrogue, Umbreon, and Espeon have these visuals in the game, I don't know why this isn't being talked about more frequently, as it seems like it would be a pretty solid indicator that this is where Niantic plans to move next. Were these just three things that 'lapistier', the contributor to the sprites website, randomly decided to add in, or are these able to be found somewhere within the client? via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2kreDvE
