"Misconceptions about Catch Mechanics Clarified"

#PokemonGO: I've been seeing a lot of misconceptions on catch mechanics on r/TSR. I want to help clear things up, since our original article on gamepress was complicated:You only get a bonus to catch rate for the circle size if you actually hit within the circle."Not all greats are equally great": Catch probability changes continuously with circle size. It does not depend on which bonus you get.The best bonuses are:Ultra Ball(2.0)Excellent Throw(2.0-1.7)Curveball (1.7)Great Ball(1.5) = Razzberry(1.5)Great Throw(1.7-1.3)Medals (1.1-1.3) ~ Nice Throw (1.3-1.0)The bonuses multiply, rather than adding. As far as I know, there is still no accepted, evidence-based theory on why the curveball sometimes doesn't count. Maybe somebody knows better than I - discussion in the comments. If you want to read our summary article to know the whole story, it's here:http://ift.tt/2b16ONw via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2kIKpU7
