"Pokemon... IN FRENCH!"

My second playthrough of Moon (or as the title screen now declares, "Pokemon Lune") was in French. Aside from the names of all the Pokemon, here are a few differences I noticed:Most people's names are changed, such as Hala's. His name is now Pectorious, WHICH UPSET ME AS IT IS NOT EVEN REMOTELY HAWAIIAN. However, when he greeted me at the Four Counsel (Elite 4 = Conseil 4) he asked me if I was ready to "Take the Pectauros by the horns," so I was okay with it after all.Lillie's name is simply spelled Lili. Hau's name is simply spelled Tili, which does not spell Hau at all. Not a bad name, but it's embarrassing that my two friends are Lili and Tili.Gladion's name is Gladio, not to be confused with Gladio from Final Fantasy XV (just kidding, confuse them all you want because I did when I was still in my English playthrough). This isn't a surprising name change, as the French don't seem to like consonants at the ends of their words (such as the philosopher "Socrate")... they never pronounce them anyway (c's, l's, r's, and f's exempted)Gladio is more hardcore than I remember in English, with quotes such as "The only way to forget our struggles is in these useless combats" and "If you say 'trooooooop bien!' [(Hau's French catchphrase, roughly 'so cool!')] again, I'm strangling you."Most of the doyen--excuse me, kahuna's-- names are switched significantly. Molene/Molyne is one exception. Sophocles is simply named "Chrys," which I like better because THIS TRAINER IS NOT AN ANCIENT GREEK TRAGIC PLAYWRIGHT HE'S A GEEKY MIDDLE-AGED CHILD.Lusamine's name is Elsa-mina, which I find equally pretty.Guzma is still Guzma. And I mean it's still completely him, including an introductory couplet which goes like, "Qui est le boss qui tout le monde deteste? Qui [something something something] eclater les tetes? C'est Guzma!" (Who is the boss the whole world detests? Who [something something something smashing heads? It's Guzma!"I forget Looker's name, but the important point is that he, regrettably, stays in French. He doesn't have the "strange habit" of bursting into other languages.Pokemon names threw me for a loop, but more confusing were move names, which would be misleading. The move "Reflet," for example? It means "double-team." Also, I feel awkward for the original French translators who turned Technical Machine into Technique Capsule and then it turned out generations later that they were CDs. Speaking of move names, the Z-Move names are basically directly translated in French, and still sound just as wonderfully dramatic.
