"The Fouricorio Challenge"
After the release of Pokemon Sun and Moon, I quickly realized what needed to be done. I set out to conquer the Alolan League using only four Oricorio, one of each form. I knew it would be tough, but I really underestimated just how bad it would be.I did not realize that Oricorio couldn't learn it's signature move, Revelation Dance, until level 40. I did not realize that Oricorio couldn't learn any other secondary STAB moves. I did not realize that since Revelation Dance is technically a normal type move, Oricorio cannot use the Electric, Fire, Psychic, or Ghost Z-crystals, outside of Z-Rest, Z-Calm Mind, and Z-Agility. I did not realize that my only possible coverage move would be Hidden Power- although fortunately, I was lucky enough to get some useful HP typings. Lastly, while I knew going in that Olivia was going to be an extremely tough matchup, I did not count on Kukui being the single most difficult fight I have experienced in all of Pokemon.Allow me to introduce my team:Timberlake, Pom-Pom Style Oricorio (because he's electric)Revelation DanceHidden Power RockAir SlashTeeter DanceI was planning to use this one as a paraflinching annoyance, before I realized that Oricorio can't learn Thunder Wave.Rihanna, Baile Style Oricorio (because she's fire)RoostHurricaneHidden Power FightingRevelation DanceHP Fighting was a HUGE boon against Rock and Steel types.Madonna, Sensu Style Oricorio (because she's a ghost)RoostAir SlashToxicRevelation DanceAnother stally set. Had HP Psychic for a while, but it wasn't terribly useful so I dropped it for Toxic.Beyonce, Pa'u Style Oricorio (by default)RoostHurricaneHidden Power FightingRevelation DanceHP Fighting was a HUGE boon against Rock and Steel types, this time without the 4x weakness to Rock.Kukui was a nightmare. Not a single one of my birds could tank a single Stone Edge from his Lycanroc, and none of them could outspeed it either. Plus, it liked to set up Stealth Rocks. Magnezone was a similar nightmare. Snorlax could 3HKO my birds easily, and was too tanky for my birds to do significant damage to. I used more items in this battle alone than in most of my previous Elite Four runs in any game.Photo Proof of Completion: http://ift.tt/2jE7n26 (Sorry for crappy quality) via /r/pokemon http://ift.tt/2jtLIHu
