"To those who've experienced stops or gyms being removed, were you able to get them back?"

#PokemonGO: I live in a town of 3k-4k people, with 5 stops and 1 gym. However, sometime on December 28th or 29th, our only gym disappeared. I've done a little bit of searching the sub and the internet in general and found lots of reports of this, but little about them being returned.The gym was located in a small park in town, so it wasn't on anyone's property and there are only about 10 people who are regularly taking the gym. Also, it's full on winter here so the only way people play at the gym are in a car on the side of the road. I find it highly unlikely that a local, non-pokemon go player would report it as being a nuisance.I've also checked on the ingress intel map and the portal has also vanished from existence.With no in game method of contacting other players, I have no way of letting people on my team know about the other rural gyms a few kilometres from town. Now I'm fearful that one salty person (player or not) has ruined the game for others.For anyone else with this experience, how did you go about getting your gym/stop back? Was it successful or unsuccessful? I've reached out to Niantic, but I have low hopes of that accomplishing much.P.S. Hope everyone else's holiday gift from Niantic has been much better.
