"Training against Vaporeon, CP efficiency"

#PokemonGO: If you've already read my previous threads on CP efficiency for Snorlax and Gyarados, skip the intro and go to the next section on Vaporeon.Intro to CP efficiencyThe spreadsheets from Professor_Kikui, qmike, and dneal12 and various infographics you may have seen around here are based on performance at the same level, e.g. how a level 30 Wartortle performs versus a level 30 Vaporeon. They show that Vaporeon is much stronger. For training/prestiging a gym, CP is essential, as the amount of prestige gained depends on the CP of your attackers. For example, a team of 1100 CP attackers against a 2200 CP defender nets 1000 prestige. (See my other thread: 1000 prestige/battle is most time- and potion-efficient)At 1100 CP, Vaporeon is around level 12, while a Wartortle is around level 30. When these two Pokemon are at the same CP, Wartortle is actually slightly stronger. The most important stat for choosing Pokemon to train a gym is CP efficiency, a Pokemon's strength per CP. In the below tables, I've listed CP efficiency as a percentile, relative to the best Pokemon for that defender's moveset other than Chansey. Since Chansey takes so long to battle and can time out, I don't want to skew the percentiles by basing them on her.All calculations assume you dodge only charge attacks. You can adjust this yourself in the spreadsheet.VaporeonCPE - CP efficiency, amount of damage that the attacker can deal before fainting, as a percentile relative to the best performerDPS - Damage per second, as a percentile relative to the best performerMax CP - Max CP at level 30Since Vaporeon's three charge attacks are all water, the results for each are identical.Pro tip: you can sort columns by clicking on the headerpokemonbasicchargecpedpsmax cpChanseyPoundHyper Beam159%33%1,259ChanseyPoundPsychic128%27%1,259ChanseyZen HeadbuttHyper Beam127%26%1,259ChanseyPoundDazzling Gleam116%24%1,259ChanseyPoundPsybeam116%24%1,259ChanseyZen HeadbuttPsychic103%21%1,259VenusaurVine WhipSolar Beam100%84%2,201IvysaurVine WhipSolar Beam100%84%1,330TangelaVine WhipSolar Beam100%84%1,893ParasectBug BiteSolar Beam96%90%1,420VenusaurVine WhipPetal Blizzard94%79%2,201VenusaurRazor LeafSolar Beam93%78%2,201IvysaurRazor LeafSolar Beam93%78%1,330IvysaurVine WhipPower Whip90%76%1,330TangelaVine WhipPower Whip90%76%1,893BulbasaurVine WhipPower Whip89%77%841ChanseyZen HeadbuttDazzling Gleam89%18%1,259VenusaurRazor LeafPetal Blizzard88%74%2,201VileplumeRazor LeafSolar Beam87%83%2,029ParasectFury CutterSolar Beam86%80%1,420GloomRazor LeafPetal Blizzard86%76%1,296SlowpokeWater GunPsychic85%51%1,032ExeggcuteConfusionSeed Bomb85%54%944BulbasaurVine WhipSeed Bomb84%72%841IvysaurRazor LeafPower Whip84%71%1,330VictreebelRazor LeafSolar Beam84%87%1,944VileplumeRazor LeafPetal Blizzard83%79%2,029VenusaurVine WhipSludge Bomb82%69%2,201IvysaurVine WhipSludge Bomb82%69%1,330ChanseyZen HeadbuttPsybeam82%17%1,259BulbasaurVine WhipSludge Bomb82%70%841ExeggutorZen HeadbuttSolar Beam81%81%2,500JigglypuffPoundBody Slam81%60%611SlowpokeConfusionPsychic81%48%1,032VileplumeAcidSolar Beam80%76%2,029TentacruelPoison JabSludge Wave79%51%2,034MoreIvysaur and Venusaur (and Tangela) perform the same, so don't waste your candy evolving Venusaur.Electric types are mediocre. The best one, Electrode, is only 70 percentile and doesn't make the cutoff for this table, but you can see it and all the other Pokemon on the spreadsheet. That's because electric doesn't resist water, while grass types do.Chansey is highly effective, but will take a long time to battle.SpreadsheetView only, or make a copyIncludes full list of all Pokemon attackers, and more defenders (work in progress).PokebattlerI simulated some battles (spreadsheet) using /u/celandro's Pokebattler.defenderattackerattackerattackerattackerVaporeonIvysaurParasectWigglytuffChanseyBasicWater GunVine WhipBug BitePoundPoundChargeWater PulseSolar BeamSolar BeamHyper BeamHyper BeamCP25001250125012501250HP3849592193375StrategyDodge SpecialsDodge SpecialsDodge SpecialsDodge SpecialsWinYesYesYesYesDamage received5770141159Att HP remain382252216Att HP remain %40%24%27%58%Time (seconds)44.346.447.391.5Prestige1000100010001000Prestige/s22.5721.5521.1410.93Prestige/damage17.5414.297.096.29Power195.7%154.0%140.8%235.8%Victories*611.749.248.4514.15High DPS attackers like Ivysaur and Parasect are more time-efficient and potion-efficient (they receive less damage, which require fewer potions to heal).Wigglytuff, the best all-purpose attacker (regardless of type), only takes 1 second longer than Parasect, but takes much more damage.Chansey gets dangerously close to timing out at 91.5 seconds.Power is a Pokebattler result that "represents how many times a Pokemon would kill another. 250% means it would kill it 2 times and then die half way through the 3rd attempt."Victories*6 multiples Power by 6, and represents how many defenders you would defeat if you had an attacking team of 6. Of course in real life, the defenders will get progressively harder, and you might run into a Snorlax.CreditsThis is based on /u/vlfph's excellent CP efficiency v4 spreadsheet, using the Target Input sheet. All the credit should go to him; I'm simply repackaging his work in a more digestible format.ConclusionI look forward to feedback. I'm currently working on other popular defenders like Lapras, Exeggutor, Rhydon, Dragonite. I'll take your comments into consideration before I publish those results.See alsoTraining against Snorlax, CP efficiencyTraining against Gyarados, CP efficiency1000 prestige/battle is most time- and potion-efficient via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2il7uQm
