"We're all gaining pokemon, and never losing them (unless we want to)."

#PokemonGO: Most of the "hardcore" players have lots of high level dragonites and snorlax. Even moderately active players usually one or two high level dragonites and/or snorlax. This means that as each week goes by, the gyms have higher and higher concentrations of high level dragonites and snorlax. How long until the moderately active players all have many of these mons? And the casual players even have a couple? How long until every gym in an active populated city is nothing but 3k+ dragonites and snorlaxes? I'm already seeing some gyms in my city like that with the 10th mon in a gym being 3k CP, and the average CP is steadily rising. There's no limit to how many of these pokemon that can exist, and no (realistic) limit to how many a single player can have (I'll edit my comment when someone has 1000 of them). How can the game deal with this long term? It reminds me of currency issues that games like WoW have to deal with. There's gold constantly being "created" in WoW every time a mob respawns. Part of a solution was to create cost sinks to remove gold from the game (like repair costs, respec costs, etc). In pogo, there's dragonites and snorlax constantly being added to the game every day with no way to keep the numbers in check. What can be done about this? Or is this not really a problem in the first place? via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2kdfCi2
