"What if "Super Effective" was... super effective?"

#PokemonGO: Hey SilphRoad, I know the sub doesn't like complaining posts so I'll try to keep it constructive.I understand the 1.25x multiplier for super effective made sense when the game launched, at least to some extent, it made everything viable in gyms and matchups were more about who trained harder. Now, with 3k CP dragonite/snorlax/vaporion and spoofers dominating aplenty, the meta has become stale with there being only 5-6 decent gym options due to CP.If super effective attacks actually did double damage, would it still be viable to leave a pile of dragonites in a gym when most people have a seadra or cloyster with blizzard? Would Machamp still fare so poorly vs Snorlax (against whom he should be incredible)? I don't understand why STAB attack bonuses give the same attack bonus as a type vulnerability. Do you think we would actually see the gym meta shift at all if super effective attacks granted a significantly greater damage boost? Maybe people would still just pick the top CP pokemon and throw them into gyms, but it would at least make that strategy more vulnerable/easier to counter than carefully chosen variety.Sorry if this has been discussed ad nauseum. Didn't see anything when I ran a search. Anyone care to share their thoughts? via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2k4shVy
