"Gamble Mons to reroll moves and other Endgame Thoughts"

#PokemonGO: As many travelers have indicated, gyms are approaching the point of Dragonite Singularity. This game desperately needs a "gold sink" style mechanic before too much longer - casuals have been shoved out in most areas long ago and now players that are in the mid 30's are finding it difficult to place defenders. The endgame needs addressing, and it needs it now. Here's how to do it:Hall of FameEnshrinement: A Pokemon that has achieved, X "Battles Won," (if we ever figure out how that's really calculated), or 48hrs in a gym, or (later) defeats the NPC elite four, becomes eligible for the Hall of Fame.Purpose: Placing a Pokemon in the HoF removes it from battle permanently, in exchange for a reward. Future events could require a certain number of HoF Pokemon, and the associated medals would have one-time awards to incentivize achieving them.Possible Permanent Rewards for enshrining a Pokemon:10 Stardust or EXP bonus every time its trainer collects gym coins, forever.*5 Stardust bonus on every pokemon caught, based on # of enshrined PokemonExperience award based on CP of enshrined PokemonX candy for enshrined Pokemon, based on a percentage of its level when enshrinedRecalibration of CP into AP and DPShowing defensive prowess only, DP [someone add a formula!] would take over as the gym placement metric, with AP representing attack power and settling DP ties. This should specifically address the top tier defenders which are being pushed out by the Dragonite Singularity, but would leave a huge # attached to Dragonite so that its owners wouldn't feel jipped.Sacrifice Pokemon (or alternatively), candy to Reroll moves. The professor loves to study pokemon and he's invented a way to retrain them. Maybe you got a Dragonite with Steel Wing but you really want Dragon's Breath? Maybe you got the coveted Twister Gyarados? Time to gamble on a better moveset, borrowing from the Mystic's mechanics in Diablo 3.*How it works: Select the move of the Pokemon you wish to try to reroll. Choose carefully - This locks the other move of the Pokemon.First Try (25% chance): Transfer 1 pokemon with the same move you're aiming to get (transfer that seadra with DB to try to get DB instead of Steel Wing)Second Try (50% chance): Transfer 2 Pokemon with the same move you're trying to get.Third Try (100% chance): Transfer 4 Pokemon with the same moveBreeding for Improved IVs and other movesetsHow: Assign two compatible Pokemon for 10k / 15k / 20k based on breeding group or level of the breeders. While breeding, Pokemon cannot be used as buddies or in combat. What: After breeding is complete, an egg hatches with the Pokemon randomly hatching, its species being either the male or female breeder. Why: The newly produced pokemon will inherit moves based on its parents - even if it doesn't learn those in wild captured versions. This wouldn't allow Pokemon to learn moves they couldn't ever learn in the main series.IVs: IVs of the new Pokemon should be skewed toward (but not set at) the breeders' IVs, including a cap on each IV, +1 point. Thus, if you bred two 15/15/15 pokemon you would have a chance to produce a level 1 16/16/16 baby.Shiny: Shininess should have an increased chance to occur if one or both parents are shiny.Training bounty Running into a strong friendly gym should be a boon. As it stands now though, that is the very worst thing to encounter in the game (and an awful design element which makes you hate your own team's success).Fix it: Receive a reward, such as a Super-Pokestop type drop, for training against a friendly Level 10 gym. Pretty simple. Needs to happen.TL;DRFor this game to successfully transition into lasting years longer, not months, we need:To remove Mons from circulation with a Hall of Fame and through gambling them for better movesets. To give the best defenders gym preference by splitting CP into DP and APTo add breeding, which would increase moveset possibilities, and add another layer of grinding via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2lniY3l
