"My -personal- Pokemon naming scheme"
#PokemonGO: i visit the silphroad almost daily, and have seen quite some naming schemes pass by since. Most of them are so alienated from the original pokemon’s name and “over functional/abstract, that i kept developing my own naming system. After my friends happily adopted the same system, I thought it might help some fellow travelers on the road, as many have helped me in other ways as well.1) Main criteria was that i would like to keep the original pokemon’s name for that bit of personal connection with the acquired pokemon that deserves a spot in my bag. Some names like Victribell became too long and are changed into Vbell.2) Personally, i don’t need to know EACH move from each pokemon. I just need to know if they are ideal for attacking or defending. After changing the symbols for either purpose a lot the first few months, I finally settled, with a for me aestecially pleasing symbol:\ “defenders name” which (with some imagination) looks like a shielding gesture./ “attackers name” again, with some imagination looks like a spear or any form of attacking towards the opponent.| "good defender as well as attacker". If it has no ideal moveset but I have no better alternative yet.3) Another thing that i miss in most naming schemes is the ability to sort by IV, with the best IV on top, in order to save some scrolling time. After just reached level 34 and have acquired an almost full pokedex (Cleffa, Tauros, Kangaskhan missing) and knowing most of my strongest attackers and defender IV and the minimal difference, there is no need to know the exact IV’s for me anymore. So i made a distinction every 10% difference and a perfect 100% will be named with an unique name.99-90 will get a number 1 (because it is number 1!) 89-80 will get a number 2 etc. This way a pokemon with 90%+ IV’s will get a number 1 and will be listed higher than a 85% one, which will have a number 2 as prefix. In the end a Dragonite with SW, DP and 92% IV’s will be named 1\ Dragonite and a Draginite with DB, DC with 85% IV’s becomes 2/ Dragonite. The space between the attackers symbol and the pokemon name is a personal choice and more pleasing to my own eyes.If I now scroll through my list it almost looks like the original but a small prefix makes it clear if I should ideally use it for attacking or defending a gym. And if it's worth powering up 80%+, preferably 90%+TL;DR The result of my search of a naming system that honors the original monsters name, helps while sorting pokemon on IV and easy to recognize if the pokemon has the ideal moveset for defending or attacking (according to pokemon.gamepress)in game result! via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2kQ8ERa
