"r/TheSilphRoad is about to get flooded with new faces. (Welcome!) Help answer questions in /new, and then report duplicates! Help us keep TSR uncluttered, but a friendly & welcoming resource."

#PokemonGO: Wow, travelers.I don't remember seeing our traffic this high since ... well, I'm not sure we've ever had as many folks online simultaneously as we have now!And tomorrow, it's going to be even more intense! We can't wait.Remember, TSR is a place to help newbies! We'll have thousands of new folks join us in the next few days. (Welcome, new faces!)To our veteran travelers, remember to keep it friendly in /new - even if the question has been asked before. Many folks join reddit just to participate here and don't even know we have a search bar (which is admittedly pretty clunky anyway!).We welcome newbie questions here. That said, in an effort to keep things uncluttered, we want to remove duplicate questions once answered. Help us keep things orderly by clicking reporton duplicate questions/observations!We need your help to keep the Road useful and on top of the deluge. :)To help in this effort, here is a list of common questions and observations being asked right now. Feel free to link this thread when folks (undoubtedly) ask these questions again in /new!1. How come I don't see Gen 2 Pokemon yet? They should begin spawning sometime tomorrow. The software update did not coincide with the new species. Stay tuned!2. Multi-finger appraisal isn't working anymoreYep, the new update fixed the recently-discovered glitch where you could Power Up your pokemon multiple times by multi-touch pressing the Power Up button.3. Which Gen 2 Pokemon will remain unreleased? While we aren't 100% sure, it's most likely that all 86 remaining non-legendary Pokemon species from Gen 2 will be released. (There are 100 total, 9 babies plus Togetic been released already, and 6 legendaries/mythical species.)One possible exception is Unown, which has its own medal in the APK code now, but may not be ready. The CEO of Niantic mentioned "over 80" species would be released - not "80."4. Some of the images/sprites/silhouettes of Pokemon have changed!Yep! We're seeing some species got new sprites.5. Throwing mechanics feel different...Yes, ball mechanics got overhauled. It is generally easier to throw now, so tone it down a bit!6. Applying Razz Berries changes the color of the circle!Yes it does, now!7. Pokemon cries sound different now. Lower quality?Yes, they seem to have been compressed or at least sound that way now.8. Gender labels have been addedYep!Remember - keep it friendly! We work hard to make the Road an awesome place for those looking to learn, no matter whether they're just getting started, or mining large datasets for mechanic clues.Good luck managing your hype, travelers!- Executive Dronpes - via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2lXP2u8
