I've seen a lot of people complaining about/not liking my boi toucannon because they think it makes no sense for a woodpecker to become a toucan. I've explained the good reasoning a few times and people always understand it better then, so I figured I'd dedicate a whole post to it.So yes, a woodpecker and a toucan seem like very different birds, and it seems like a dramatic transition, more so than say, a small sparrow-like pigeon bird becoming an eagle. (Pidgey-Pidgeot). However, toucans and woodpeckers are very closely related, and that evolutionary chain makes more sense than a small passerine bird evolving into a bird of prey. They key to toucan's and woodpecker's closely relatedness is their feet.
