#PokemonGO: Rare candy is a type of candy that isn't tied to any one pokemon. It can be use to level up a pokemon the same as ordinary candies. Eg if my Gyarados needs 3 Magikarp candies to level it up, I could instead use 3 rare candies to level it up.Rare candies can also be used to 'top up' the number of candies you have to evolve a pokemon. Eg if I am 5 candies short of evolving my Pikachu (only have 45/50 candies) I can use 5 of my rare candies as "Pikachu candies" so that I can evolve it.How could you obtain rare candy?We currently receive a decent reward for the 7 day pokestop streak, an evolution item. Perhaps 3 rare candy could be rewarded as a 7 day catch streak reward.It could be a rare drop from pokemon. This would create further incentives to capture "useless pokemon" (the ones you typically avoid because you already have them, their evolutions and they are useless at battling gyms).Perhaps their could be a trade system. You can exchange 100 candies of any pokemon type for 1 rare candy. Again this would create an incentive and give more enjoyment to catching all of the boring pokemon you don't need.TL;DR Rare candies can be used as any type of pokemon candy. Rewarded as 7 day catch streak. Trade 100 pokemon candies for 1 rare candy. A rare drop from catching wild pokemon.
