"Niantic should do some more biome flipping events - it actually felt like they augmented reality."

#PokemonGO: See, one of the draws about augmenting reality is that you can take things called acceptable breaks from reality (ie, like how Tentacool and Chinchou should realistically not be found outside of coasts since they are SaltWater creatures, not freshWater) and put them in - just to make the game more fun.During the water festival event, I was doing things like finding water pokemon everywhere - finally a break from the townscapes that look like something straight out of The Last of Us with all the damn Paras. Sure it makes no sense but damned if it wasn't kinda fun. I mean, I caught a lot more pokemon in one weekend than I did in the last three weeks. I had a goal to work towards - since gyms are simply not an option in this town (due to not existing.)It also felt like they upped the spawn rates in general - sure I would find more around parking lots and one of the pokestops in town, but even walking on nature trails, I'd experience things like finding more than one or two pokemon every half an hour. Heck, I actually found water pokemon by water. :Otldr? I think Niantic should do more of these events. I mean, if you're in a water biome (which apparently exist - if biomes do matter I must be in the "Mushroom field" or "Hamelin" biome given how many freaking Paras and Rattata there are out here ffs) this just overrode the pokemon you were looking for. But imagine something like say... an earth day week where you find more grass and ground types. Or a fire day where fire types are everywhere. Rock week where rock types are everywhere. And when they start adding more Pokemon, things like Metal Week or Dark Times.Just roll them out every couple of weeks to break the monotony, in between major updates and the like. via /r/pokemongo http://ift.tt/2obHKFc
