"The game is very slow right now"

#PokemonGO: Despite having fun in the current Water Festival event, the stability of the game after the most recent update (0.59.1/1.29.1) has been incredibly frustrating. Everything is very slow and feeling sluggish. From loading encountered Pokemon, to spinning pokestops, to the GPS tracker lag, to the nearby tracker disappearing quite often. It's just a mess right now and I believe most of these issues are server-side. And what's worse about these issues is that the my battery is draining even even faster now because of the lag. I don't mean to sound negative during this great event but I felt that it was so bad I had to bring it up.
