"If Only Niantic Ran This Game Like Duel Links"
#PokemonGO: I loved this game when it first came out. I spent hundreds of hours running all over town and going to other cities and catching Pokemon. I was reliving my childhood and hadn't had more fun playing a mobile game. My brothers and I would constantly go on Pokemon hunts. We would wake up early to take out all the gyms in our area. We had a blast. But eventually, as it has done so for the majority of the player base, the game got stale. Month old, crunchy bread stale. There wasn't enough content, fluff, or interaction. None of the promised features were even close to being implemented. We didn't even know IF or WHEN they could be implemented. The starter event got me back into it for a bit, but that faded. Then Gen 2 came out and I played a lot, but due to lack of interest that also faded. The water celebration was very nice (especially living in the desert) but once again, that faded. Every few months something comes along where I will pick it up and play for a bit, but once the event ends there is very, very little incentive to play. I don't have a way of tracking or finding exclusively rare Pokemon without cheating. Spoofers have annihilated all of the gyms in my area. I have no incentive to spend any money on the game because of lack of content. Then I came across Duel Links. My goodness. What a revelation!Konami, who is notorious for not being customer friendly, runs that game better than any other mobile game I have ever played. If they mess up, they admit it - fixing it within hours or days. And they give players rewards for their mistakes (heaven forbid!) Weekly, if not multiple times a week there are advance notices on maintenance, upcoming events, bugs, challenges, etc. There are promotions, sales, and little extras that are available. Every single week there are small "events" to offer players incentive for playing (more prizes, rewards for playing, available cards, etc.) Every 3 weeks or so there are larger events that are just as engaging as what we have had for Pokemon Go. They release new content and cards bi-monthly. They offer surveys to players after events and actually listen to constructive feedback and implements ideas that players have come up with to improve the game within a very reasonable time frame. They try new ideas to satisfy the player base. Are they perfect? No. But they sure as heck try and are very transparent about it.Their product absolutely blows Niantic out of the water. If Niantic truly cared about their product and the bottom line ($$$) they would adopt Konami's model with Duel Links and how they interact with their fanbase. Currently, and we all feel it, it seems like Niantic just throws the middle finger at their fans. It's their way or the highway. It makes me sick thinking of how much better this game could have been. But due to sheer arrogance Niantic took the greatest gaming opportunity of all time and crapped the bed. It isn't too late to fix it, but seeing what I've seen, it's never going to happen. via /r/pokemongo http://ift.tt/2pduYpl
