"[Survey Results] 7,050 Responses! Most/Least Used Pokemon across all the regions!"

Results Infographic: http://ift.tt/2oJtjfo off, I have to say I did not expect for this survey to be so well recieved. When I made a post that basically said, "Hey guys, I made not one, not two, but 8 damn surveys, each with anywhere around 50-250 options to choose from, and you have to try and remember back up to around 20 years of playthroughs to complete it, k thx bye", I didn't think it was going to get much attention. So thanks for that!Secondly, yes, there were some issues with how I made these surveys, mainly the options that were available. For those that prefered to not fully evolve your Pokemon, the reason I only did final evolutions was to reduce the options (remember there was already 50-250 options for each that I had to type out by hand, and that users would have to scroll through). Also, yes, I forgot about things like DexNav and Island Scan, so those Pokemon didn't get included. I could go on, I've got many messages about these issues. The good news is that since I made these surveys in Google Forms, I have them all saved, including the responses. I can edit and fix them up and re-open them to add on to the results collected, or duplicate them and start fresh. Maybe after a couple of weeks past the release of the next games, I'll post these again to collect even more data.Thirdly, I'm no statistician. I tried my best to pull out some information from the data that would be interesting, but it's likely that the information may be misleading because I forgot to consider one thing or another. I put notes down all over where I thought there were issues. So, sorry in advance! And lastly, some things that surprised me from the results:Electrode was the least popular Electric-type for the first 3 generations. Don't you guys know that Electrode has 140 base Speed in those games (150 currently in S/M, Pheromosa has 151 base speed, for comparison!) Sure, Electrode only has 80 base Sp. Atk, which is still pretty good, but also is great at using support moves like Thunder Wave and Light Screen/Reflect.Didn't realize Krookodile was as popular as it was in B/W (and even in B2/W2). I got nothing against it, I love Dark-types, but didn't know just how popular it was. I think the simple fact that it is a 3-stage evolution helps a lot, many people (myself included) love Pokemon that evolve a lot.Maybe not really surprising, but if I were to guess which Pokemon was going to be least used, I thought it would be a more recently introduced Pokemon simply because the older games have probably been played and re-played a ton compared to newer games. Apparently not, as I think it's clear that Luvdisc is the least popular Pokemon. Low stats, no evolutions, another mono-type water fish, and a not-so-great movepool does seem like things people wouldn't really care for. And just to confirm that it isn't that great of a Pokemon, have a read of Smogon's XY Strategy page for Luvdisc. That said, if there's anything you guys leave with today, it should be that Luvdisc could use some Luv. If you're starting a new run soon, consider picking up a Luvdisc and join the exclusive few who already have. Maybe do a Luvdisc solo-run!TL;DR: Thanks for the huge response, I know there were some issues, but I hope to fix them in the future, sorry if I misread the data and pulled misleading or incorrect information from it, and adopt a Luvdisc today. via /r/pokemon http://ift.tt/2ps0Is3
