"A Case for Waiting to Evolve Before the Gym Rework"

#PokemonGO: There have been quite a few threads asking should I wait to evolve my pokemon for the gym rework or should I go ahead and power up. I myself have asked this question. My first and only 2 dragonites have been graced with Steel Wing and my only Tyranitar Fire Blast. I don't think I can deal with the heart break of evolving bad movesets again especially if a gym rework comes and makes the potential best movesets I can get subpar. So I began wondering, on average do moves improve or get worse with moves reworks. As i thought about the previous one I decided for the most part new moves introduced are better than the old ones. Psychic was replaced by Futuresight, most of the Dragonite moves were replaced by more powerful ones, zen headbutt got beat out by extrasensory, all fire moves became subpar to new ones. With the exception of a few pokemon with amazing legacy movesets (DB DC Dragonite, Body Slam Snorlax) I feel most movesets get better with a rework. This makes sense from Niantics view as releasing a bunch of subpar moves isn't exciting for anyone.Best case scenario if I evolve my next Tyranitar or Dragonite, which I have worked so hard to get candy for, and get the best moves. Imagine sinking all your candy and stardust only to have that move become subpar with a rework. It would be the worst. In the end, if a gym rework is coming in the next month or so there is a chance of new moves being released. If the gym rework comes and no changes are made I will go ahead and evolve, I can wait a month. Though I must admit having a good Dratini and Larvitar is burning a hole in my pocket I want to evolve them so bad. Please talk me out of it. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2rozhmM
