"A long-deleted gym in my area keeps changing teams. What gives?"

#PokemonGO: There's a gym scanning website which, per subreddit rules, I won't provide. It's still tracking a gym which, for reasons beyond my knowledge, no longer exists, and hasn't existed for at least a couple of months.According to the gym tracker, this now-deleted gym has changed hand a few times over the last few weeks.
