"Does the game need features for when you're not out exploring?"

#PokemonGO: Reading some recent ideas people have posted got me thinking, would it be nice to have ways to interact with the game when you aren't out hunting?Example: Sparring pokemon. Battling against target dummies to test match ups, see a prestigers potential, etc. No prizes, xp, etc. Just for fun and research.Part of me thinks it could be fun and worthwhile to have some ways to kill time when the map is empty and I'm stuck in place.
