I hope Niantic implements this, but I thought I'd share something informal I participated in. A local Valor Discord where we coordinate gym raids was joking as we all do about how useless Nanab berries are when one member said he'd pay $10 to the first person to post a screenshot of 200 Nanabs. Game. On. We've spent the last week competing to see who would get there first and trying to optimize our reduced item storage. Turns out, it was a lot of fun to have a new goal to work toward, and it did change my play style a bit, causing me to prioritize spinning over catching and seek out more Pokestops. Combined with Adventure Week, it really had me out walking. Oh, and I won. So here's my screenshot. And here's a very satisfying moment.
