I've been wanting to get into streaming on 3DS for a while, but capture cards tend to be a bit pricey. But, it was something I wanted to do for my channel because of the Pokemon/Hawaii stuff. Katsukity seemed to be the only one that still did them, so I saved up and got the Capture card for my 3DS. $269.I am regret.First, when shipping, his policy is to refund up to $30 for shipping, even though it can cost more ($299 now). Of course, this wasn't done. Then I received the capture card. Dead on arrival. The system wouldn't even turn on. They first sent me a copy/paste style troubleshooting guide asking for a screenshot of the problem. No screenshot because it didn't work lol. They asked to send it back again, as they have a 30 day repair policy that gives repairs for FREE. Again they stated that they'd refund up to $30 for shipping. Didn't happen. ($329).After this they didn't communicate anything for a bit. Not that they had received it, repaired it, or shipped it back. I just received a package with my 3DS. My 3DS had been gutted (we are up to $529 in loss). Everything had been wiped. No data at all.I sent an email asking what had happened and why my system had the inside removed. They denied this and saidWe are sorry, but we do not change nor delete the data of your system while assembling the kits. We installed a capture board on your system.I sent them another email saying that they absolutely did removed it.I got this reply.We apologize for the inconvenience. I checked the status of your fixing request with the engineers. According to our engineers, we found that your console came broken and could not start without the motherboard being replaced. Since the motherboard on your 3DS had to be replaced, the data was removed.Now I was really really angry. I didn't authorize this at all. I said that they might as well have given me a completely different system. Their response:The mother board was a new, so it is essentially a new condition on your 3DS. We apologize for the inconvenience, but we do not exchange your current 3DS to a new one.The system, again, was barely working. Wouldn't stay on. Kept disconnecting. Wouldn't recognize at all. I asked for a refund of the capture card and the shipping that was promised.They went completely dark.I emailed them again. No response.I filed a claim on PayPal to try and resolve everything. After going back and forth, I had to escalate it. This must of made them angry because they said they'd only give me a refund IF:I shipped MY New 3DS xl that I bought before all of this (another $30+ hit so I'm now over $559 in loss)With the capture cardAND paid for the motherboard they put in that I did not authorize (that was supposedly covered as a free repair under their own 30 day policy)AND pay for repair labor (now the loss is well over $800)I'm currently waiting for PayPal to review the case. Nothing else I can do but wait.To sum it up, RUN away from Katsukity. Do NOT under any circumstance purchase a capture card from them. It is an absolute scam.tl;dr: Bought a capture card from Katsukity. DOA. Sent back for free repair within 30 day warranty. Got my 3DS back with the inside removed. Asked what happened. Got excuses. Asked for refund. They said they'd only consider a refund if I gave them my own broken system, the capture card, the cost of the "new motherboard" they put in without authorization, and the cost of labor.
