"[Research] Unown spawns in London,UK"

#PokemonGO: tl:dr If you wanted to catch an Unown in London you would need to be very lucky, even in Central/Inner London. There is seemingly no trick to when or where they spawn.I wondered to myself 'If I went to London for the day, how could I best try and capture an Unown?'. To answer this question I looked at a London trackers Twitter feed where Unowns had spawned at what times etc. I have no idea if the data is complete but it is reliable. I know that trackers are looked down on and I will not post any links or names to said tracker, it is simply where I could get a good data set to work with. There were 148 Unown spawns logged since Gen 2, using the Latitudes and Longitudes in a table, I created a heat map. What we can see is that there are no real hotspots. Any slightly hotter spots are just where 2-3 have spawned close to one another, there are no 'clusters' with more than that. This to me shows that it is really very random or that there is not yet enough data to draw conclutions from. I would say that you have a slightly better chance hanging around the parks of Central London just as it has more spawns than going down random roads, though the major roads seem to have more spawns near them than than other roads. Some aditional information from the data:London can have anywhere from 0-5 spawns a day, this can be 0 for more than one day. You get around 2 spawns a day on average.Shortly after Gen 2 started the tracker gathered data on which Unowns spawned, they seem fairly evenally spread out but no Z yet.Time seems to play no role in when they spawn, it can be anytime throughout the day, morning, day or night.I again stress that this is not a large enough data set to draw any real conclutions from. I just thought that in sharing this information we can see that there seems to be no key to finding an Unown. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2r4NfGt
