"Weirdest experience I've had so far with this game happened yesterday."

#PokemonGO: After work, I pulled up to my favorite gym. It frequently spawns Magikarps and Slowpokes, and it's a short walk to 6 pokestops.Upon arrival, there was a lone Mystic Blissey in it, so I beat that before people could add to the gym. I added a throwaway pokemon (because I knew Mystic would kick it out within 20 minutes anyway) and started to catch all the pokemon that pop up there.Suddenly, a dude came around the corner talking very loudly and excitedly into his phone. It quickly became apparent that he was livestreaming. Suddenly, all 6 of the surrounding pokestops were lured by usernames like "xZ834jdddo0z" and such.The livestreamer guy loudly thanked his subscribers for luring the gyms, and it soon became apparent that he was taking donations, too. The gym (and two other nearby gyms) quickly started filling up with Mystic, even though no one in the park was playing pokemon go but me and the livestreamer guy.I followed him around the park hitting all the lured pokestops, all the while not being able to help hear him thanking people for donations and thank people for luring the stops. Again, it was readily apparent that he and I were the only people physically present in the park.After 30 minutes, the lures were gone, all the gyms were blue, and the livestreamer guy left.What the heck was going on? via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2r60BVV
