"Anyone else recently come back to the game and realize they have a lot of catching up to do?"

#PokemonGO: I, like many other players, became disillusioned with Pokemon Go once the original hype died down and the many issues with the game became apparent. My friends stopped playing and the grind of catching a million pidgeys and walking a mile to the nearest gym became mundane. Then, a couple of weeks ago, my boyfriend and I were reminiscing about how fun those first few months were, when everyone was out exploring the world and the parks were full of people even at 11 pm. We decided to pick it back up again and it has been a total blast, even with the lingering issues.The thing is that my boyfriend is level 13 and I am level 24. I have been traveling through numerous cities the last couple of weeks and I have not seen a single person in a gym that is less than level 30! We don't stand a chance in any gym battle. It does create a fun challenge though, and with this event we are gaining XP fairly quickly. I'm just curious how many other people having taken a hiatus from the game and had to "catch up"?
