"Can we take a moment to talk about German Pokemon names"

I don't speak a single word of German, but after playing this game that displays the Pokemon names in multiple other languages after an answer, I noticed that a lot of the German localizations are really funny, interesting, or just plain amusing to say.First, the ones that were either really clever or interesting to me:Honedge = Gramokles This references both the Sword of Damocles from Greek/Roman mythology and the Norse hero Sigurd's sword Gram.Deino/Zweilous/Hydreigon = Kapuno/Duodino/Trikephalo While the English names were based off the German words for 1,2,3, the German names used Spanish/Latin roots.Silvally = Amigento Based off amigo, which is obviously Spanish for friend, and argentum, which is Latin for silver. This is especially cool because the meaning of Silvally's name in every language essentially means "Silver Friend." (Though my favorite localization is still the Chinese "Silver Partner Fight Beast")Now, for the ones that are just incredibly amusing to me for no reason:Wigglytuff = KnuddeluffStunky = SkunkapuhMawile = FlunkiferCutiefly = WommelProbopass = VoluminasCorphish = KrebscorpsCrabrawler = KrabboxAnd two personal favorites:Slugma = Schneckmagand:Quagsire = MorlordAnd who could ever forget our boi:Guzma aka Bromley via /r/pokemon http://ift.tt/2rGUmZT
