"I did ten raids today. Some random thoughts."

#PokemonGO: Hey all, this morning I woke up and raids were live! Before I start, I'm level 35 and have quite a few strong mons (high IVs+Perfect moveset) and good knowledge of every weakness/resistance, every Pokemon moveset and single Pokemon attack/defense stat. (This really helps a lot when choosing your team for defeating a raid boss, especially if you are doing it solo or with a few people)1) Combat bugDodge bug is still here and still goes strong. Especially during long raid boss fights where there's a lot going on. It's frustrating! I was fighting a 34707CP Tyranitar with a few people and it has Crunch: out of 6 pokemon, I had the HP loss/gain bug on each one, causing time loss and frustration. They really have to fix this, or the whole experience can become negative for a lot of people.Solution: We need a fix, nothing more to say. One year has passed and this issue is still there.2) Number of RaidsToo. Many. Raids. I know it may sound absurd for rural people, but in a city, constantly having raid notification around you is pretty annoying, especially considered you have ONE single raid pass for each day. One solution to this can be having the option to disable raid notifications. Another complication of this fact is that everyone is spending his/her pass on level 3/4 raids and since there are a lot around (we have a local city wide Telegram group where we call for raids in the whole city), chances to find people in late afternoon are very low. Everyone is using his pass as soon a he can, and since there are a lot going on, people will spread a lot more, making it hard to find enough people for a level 4 raid. Moreover, a ongoing raid locks the gym for one hour, both low and high level ones. I don't think it's necessary having 2hours wait time and 1hour ongoing time for level 1-2 raids. People are gonna solo/duo them anyways, without waiting for others.Solution: Having the option to disable raid notifications would surely help. In addition, I'd reduce raid spawns in high gym density areas, in order to increase the average number of players for each event.3) Time before startWhen you create a private team, people will have a total of 100 seconds to join you inserting the password and organizing their attackers. This also includes choosing Pokemon and eventually healing/revitalizing them. It's really too short, especially for people with a slow smartphone.Solution: Increase total time (maybe 180 seconds) and eventually put a "I'm ready" button. When everyone is ready, the fight starts.4) One Pass per dayPeople who can't use their raid pass during the day (for multiple reasons) will waste it (as /u/DanBennet said in the comments, if you collect and don't use it for a day, the next day you'll be able to get another one, once the first is used) and on the other side, low level raids will get ignored since the average player will go for level 3 at least. In addition, I liked the idea to meet with friends maybe once per week and go full raid mode for a few hours. This becomes impossible without shopping.Solution: Raid pass once per day is fine, but I think it would be a good idea let them stackable to a maximum of 3 or 5. This way people who can't go out during a full time working day or other reasons, can spend a whole afternoon (maybe teaming up with friends) going around for raids. This also helps with problem 2).Final thoughtsOverall, I really like this new feature and it surely helps creating stronger connections between other players. The suggested people numbers for each encounter are off-track but I'm sure they balanced them around low level players to encourage people to fight together. The reward system is awesome and I think it's in a really good spot where it is. Golden Razz + Excellent throw makes wonders. Team bonus for partecipation and Gym control is an awesome idea. Rare candies can help people struggling because of their biome (I'll be personally using them only on Chansey candies). TMs, well... Everyone likes TMs!Edit: just out of curiosity my raid bosses were (in order):Venusaur (lv4)Machamp (lv3)Lapras(lv4)Tyranitar(lv4)Snorlax(lv4)Arcanine (lv3)Magikarp(lv1-for the lulz)Rhydon (lv4)Tyranitar(lv4-yes, another one)Muk(lv2) via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2t6hyRG
