"PTC Log in Currently Incompatible with iOS 9.3.5. Niantic is Unresponsive and PTC redirects us to Niantic. Please help bring this to Niantic's Attention!"

#PokemonGO: As the title says, I (and from a quick search of the internet, many others) who BOTH:1.) Use The Pokemon Trainer Club log in AND 2.) Are running iOS 9.3.5have been unable to log in to Pokemon go since the new gyms went live. Several people in this situation have circumvented this problem by updating to iOS 10, but that is not an option for those of us on older devices (My kids and I use an Ipad 3, which is "stuck" at iOS 9).The error received is "unable to authenticate".(uninstalling/reinstalling ap had no affect. Restarting device had no affect. Trying friend's accounts had no affect. Deleting Safari Data had no affect. Accounts are not banned as they can log in on other devices. Verified that App has full permissions to no affect. Device is fully connected to the internet both on wifi and on cell network. PTC account log in works on that device for PTCGO, pokemon's website, and the PTCGO message boards. Edit: CapnObv314 reminded me and I did verify my time sync is set to auto.)/u/NianticGeorge , if you can help it would be appreciated!If anyone else knows of work arounds or ways to get back in the game, I would appreciate it.
