"The current state of [cheating in the] game."

#PokemonGO: It’s easy to get off on a tangent about stuff we’ve all been talking about this year like; spoofing, strat exploits, multi accounts, login sharing and so on. This is not about that, and it’s also not about shaming any particular team etc. All of the teams have their own cheaters without any doubt. I’m posting this to make people aware of something new that’s come up in our local meta.I spend time in Toronto and Montreal and their metas are very different. Montreal has been dominated by a crew of Mystic cheaters (specifically) who have controlled the city using all the usual (mentioned above) tricks. Even with cheating too, it looks like the opposing teams can’t really keep up. Well we all found out why a couple days ago when the MTL Facebook group broke some Pokedramz that everyone should be aware of though. There’s a new custom app/script out that this local cheat crew have been using and it is what’s kept the city blue. Essentially it connects to Niantic servers and allows a user to scan a city/region/s gyms similarly to a popular gym hunting website. But it is able to search for a specific trainer name and target them. The search discovers every gym the user is placed in, within scanning range. It provides exact coordinates, detailed info about their defender mons, and is also connected to a bot network which can be targeted at the discovered gyms individually or at ALL of their gyms simultaneously. For example; within 20 mins a targeted local user was removed (the gyms were completely torn down) from 20 or so gyms spread all across the city. And this crew has been deploying the app regularly for months to manage opposing trainers that give them difficulty or to settle personal vendettas. In this case, a dispute happened and the lead cheater went on a paranoid rant admitting everything his team was doing and how it all worked; so now we’re getting the word out.http://ift.tt/2rSDbBX [context: to the guy we don't like we're targetting you]http://ift.tt/2r8Q1yK [context: the lead cheater in this case, bragging about how it works.]http://ift.tt/2rSVh6S [context: example of search results]I hear it’s not widely distributed yet, and only really well connected people have a copy, but I think a heads up here would help a lot of people understand some of the behaviour they might have seen in gyms. We have reported this to Niantic also btw. via /r/pokemongo http://ift.tt/2r8Fa7S
