"The speed limit for eggs and buddy pokemon is insane, but we may be able to get it changed."

#PokemonGO: Hey everybody. I've recently noticed that there have been many posts here complaining about the speed limit in the game for eggs and buddy pokemon. And similar to many others, this speed limit is making me go insane and almost makes me want to stop playing the game. So, I decided to gather a little bit of statistics.Like many others upset with the current speed limit, it mainly affects me when I run. Sure, I probably run at a faster pace than most Pokemon Go players run at (note: This is not meant to be offensive or me bragging. Any speed is great as long as you are getting a workout :)), but I've noticed that many other users have reported this as being a problem when they run at slower paces. After doing some research, I found that the current speed limit for eggs and buddy pokemon is about 6.5 mph, which is absurd and basically means you can only get distance in from walking. So, when I went out for a run today, I decided to do a little bit of an experiment. I checked my egg and buddy pokemon distances before I ran and after I ran to see how much distance I gained from my run. And like many others, my results are sad to say the least. Here are the screenshots of all the data: http://ift.tt/2sdhKi8 . To summarize, I ran 5.06 miles, or 8.14 km, at a 7:10/mi pace (8.36 mph/13.45 kph) and the total in-game distance gained according to the egg was 0.62 km, or 0.39 mi. I believe that this is absurd, as it means that only 7.61% (according to this run) of my distance was added in-game. And not only that, but some of the distance may have been from walking a little before I started running, as I didn't let the distance update before I started running (in retrospect, I should have). I will try to collect more data about this over the next couple of weeks and will post an update with more data.I think there may be something we can do about this, though, to show our concern about this. Sure, making posts about this issue here on Reddit will be noticed by some devs, but probably only very little. So, what we can try to do to try and get more devs to look at this is report this as an official issue on the website. Sure, I know this isn't a bug, but this is likely our greatest chance to let Niantic know about our concerns. So please, if you find this to be an issue, report it as a bug on the bug reporting site, as we need as many people as possible to report this in order for it to get noticed. Personally, I recommended changing the speed limit to 15 kph, or 9.32 mph, though anything in a small range of this is fine. So please, report this ASAP in order for Niantic to hear our concern better about this. Thanks for reading (and sorry for the block of text).TL;DR: The egg and buddy pokemon speed limit is way too low, and to voice our concern to Niantic, we should try to mass report this as a bug, asking them to increase the speed limit. via /r/pokemongo http://ift.tt/2s6COGd
