"Comparing The Value of $100 In Clash Royale & Pokémon Go"
#PokemonGO: Please note that this is a very long post, and covers topics in both Clash Royale and Pokémon Go. Also be aware that GC could mean Grand Challenge OR Grand Challenges. It is circumstantial. Same applies to Super Magical Chests. Also know that I am not bias in any way. I like and play both Clash Royale and Pokémon Go every day. Clash Royale - $100 can get you either 3 Super Magical Chests or 140 Grand Challenges. These are the best, easiest and quickest ways to max out your account in Clash Royale.Assuming you are in the highest arena (Legendary Arena) 3 Super Magical Chests will give you 19,800 Gold, 2 Legendaries (most likely), 72 Epics, 441 Rares and 1701 Commons. You need:36 Legendaries & 175,000 Gold to max out 1 Legendary386 Epics & 184,400 Gold to max out 1 Epic2586 Rares & 185,600 Gold to max out 1 Rare9586 Commons & 185,625 Gold to max out 1 CommonIncluding the Cannon Cart, there are:12 Legendaries (2,100,000 Gold & 432 Legendaries to max all)22 Epics (4,056,800 Gold & 8492 Epics to max all)21 Rares (3,897,600 Gold & 54,306 Rares to max all)20 Commons (3,712,500 Gold & 191,720 Commons to max all)This totals to 13,766,900 Gold! Therefore, based off of what you are guaranteed from a SMC (Super Magical Chest), it would take:339 SMC to max out all Commons370 SMC to max out all Rares354 SMC to max out all Epics648 SMC to max out all Legendaries (Assuming that you get 2 every 3 chests)This data tells us that you would need to buy 648 Super Magical Chests to max all your cards...BUT WAIT.There are 2 things that we didn't take into account:It costs gold to upgrade troopsYOU CAN PULL CARDS THAT YOU ALREADY HAVE MAXED OUTIf you buy 648 SMC, then you end up with 4,276,800 Gold, meaning that you still need an extra 9,490,100 Gold to actually upgrade your Cards to max.If you were to also take into account the fact that you can pull already maxed out Cards from Chests, you will need to spend over 800 SMC (this is just an estimate). However, getting an already maxed card converts into Gold, so that's a bonus. Even if you buy 800 SMC you won't be close to the amount of Gold that you need. Then again you earn Gold from other Chests, Battles, Challenges, Tournaments and Donating Cards (still doesn't make up for the cost).Ergo, using your $99 on 3 Super Magical Chests will result in you progressing less (much less) than 0.03% of the way there.NOW IT'S TIME FOR GRAND CHALLENGES!Keep in mind that most YouTubers spam SMC because they have the money, it gets them views and also because they don't want to grind Grand Challenges (GC). Mostly Pros farm Grand Challenges to lvl up their Cards and to get practice for Competitive eSports, and because they find it fun.But for most of you, doing 140 Grand Challenges will not be fun.In order to make a profit off of GC in terms of Gold, you need at least 2 Wins. 2 Wins gives you 25% more Gold per Gem than buying the 10,000 Gold for 500 Gems offer in the Shop and ~74% more Gold per Gem than a SMC.In terms of Cards, getting 0 Wins gives ~24.6% more Cards than a Super Magical Chest. That is huge! Now we are going to take into account 2 scenarios. You are an average Joe who manages to go 3-3 in all 140 GC (I wish I had Supercells data on Win Rates for GC)You are a Pro who averages 10-3 in all 140 GCIn the first scenario, going 3-3 140 times in a row will result in:448,000 Gold and 11,900 Cards (time is not take into consideration)That is ~0.325% of the way to max out in terms of Gold & ~0.466% of the way to max out in terms of Cards.Comparing this to a SMC, going 3-3 in GC results in a ~2303% profit in terms of Gold and greater than a 300% profit in terms of CardsNow in the second scenario, you would earn:1,988,000 Gold and 93,800 Cards (note that this is how Pros are able to get 200k+ Challenge Cards)*This is ~14.4% of the way to max out in terms of Gold & ~36.8% if the way to max out in terms of Cards. *THAT'S INSANE! The value you get from GC is much better than a SMC. However, realistically this number is less because you can get and will get repeats of cards you already maxed. Now that we have that out of the way, let's see what we can buy in Pokémon Go!Pokémon GoFirst off, Pokémon Go has a different playstyle than Clash Royale. The goal is to Catch 'em All, but you can't just buy Pokémon. It's not like Cards in Clash Royale where you can directly buy them. Instead, you can buy stuff like Pokéballs or Ultra balls or Raspberries to increase your chance of getting a Pokémon. But that's not how you get the best value out of your $100.Incense - UselessLure Module - Semi-UselessMax Revives - Not Worth ItPokeballs - Not Worth ItLucky Eggs - Pretty GoodRaid Passes - WORTH ITIncubators - Not Worth It because Raid Passes outvalue it in everything except StardustMax Potions - Not Worth ItNote that we are not including the Special Boxes since they are here for a limited time only.Anyway, above I listed out what was worth it and what wasn't, but thus doesn't help ''max'' out your account. In fact, what does maxing out your account in Pokémon Go even mean?Well, it could mean getting to lvl 40 and having max IV and CP Pokémon, but that's just rng. You can't help if you are a rural player and if a Machamp just happens to spawn near you. Also, going to lvl 40 is too hard to calculate because there are so many ways to do it. So, instead, the question is:What can I buy for $100 that gives me the most value and is the most fun. Now what someone thinks is fun might not be fun for someone else, but generally, I think that people would invest in Raid Passes more than anything else.Lure modules and lucky eggs are bought for grinding, but no one really likes sitting in 1 place and mass evolving Pokémon. Incense just doesn't bring good value because it spawns not so rare Pokémon.Additionally, Max Revives, Max Potions and Pokeballs aren't worth it because you can get an abundance of those at Pokéstops. Also, if you want to just buy a bunch of Incubators, it will take a long time to hatch those 10ks, just to get a Pineco. Even if you get a Larvitar after 10k, I could get a Tyranitar after 1 raid. Which is more fun, walking or raiding? Therefore the best option for both fun and value is Raid Passes. Raids bring together the community, no matter your team. Everyone gets in on fighting Legendary Pokémon, and it's usually a very fun experience for everyone (except catching them, but when you finally do, the satisfaction and happiness is worth it).Now let's talk value. You can buy 145 Raid Passes with $100. Assuming you complete every raid, you usually acquire some revives, rare candies, golden raspberries, maybe some TMs and of course, 10k XP.Assuming you get 10 Revives, 0.5 TMs, 5 Golden Raspberries and 5 Rate Candies per Raid, that work out to:1,450,000 XP1450 Revives~72 TMs725 Golden Raspberries725 Rare CandiesTHIS IS HUGE! Not to mention, if you catch about 1 in every 3 Raid Boss, that's ~ 48 Legendary Pokémon as a bonus! No other item in the game can give such value and provide as much fun at the same time. Now, what can you do with all these newly acquired items? Well, you can use Golden Raspberries to help catch other Raid Bosses, or fully motivate a Pokémon in a gym. Rare Candies count as any Candy so they provide extreme value. That amount of XP can really boost your lvls if your in the Early 30s or any of the 20s.Not to mention, you now have 72 TMs at your disposal, to teach your Pokémon the best movesets. The revives is just an added bonus for healing all your fainted 'mons.NOW, TIME TO CIRCLE BACK TO THE BEGINNING AND COMPARE THE VALUE OF 140 GRAND CHALLENGES AND 145 RAID PASSES.Hopefully you have read the entire thing, if not, then skip here for the final results. Please acknowledge that this took me hours to write, and I did it on mobile. If my math is wrong, please forgive me I'm only 14 years old lol. Hopefully my numbers are in the same area/ballpark and not too inaccurate.Anyway, most people doing the Grand Challenges will get around 3 wins, so they are ~0.282% closer to being max (0.325 and 0.466 average out to 0.282).On the contrary, spending $100 dollars in Pokémon Go on 145 Raid Passes is literally 99% guarantee that you will beat the raid boss, especially since you will most likely be traveling with a group of friends. There is not a 99% guarantee that you will get 12 wins, 6 wins, or even 3 wins every time since you aren't facing a preset Raid Boss with preset CP, but rather random opponents with different skill levels. All these bonus items you get are so beneficial to improving your Pokémon and therefore getting you closer to ''maxing'' your account. And it is definitely more than 0.282% closer.Ergo/tl;dr, $100 in Pokémon Go gives more value than in Clash Royale. I know that they are completly different games and this comparison may be a bit shoddy, but please comment below on what you think. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2vahcKV
